Another show down looms in the National Assembly on Wednesday,5th January 2022 as Legislator’s convene for another special sitting to debate the political parties amendment bill 2021.
In what is seen as a strategic move to frustrate the passage of the bill, Members of parliament allied Dp Ruto now seek 50 new amendments to the controversial bill.
According to the Clerk of the National Assembly Michael Sialai, six MPs allied to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) filed additional amendments on Tuesday Morning.
The addition of the new amendments, now paves way for a heated up debate on the floor of the National Assembly while previous amendments led by both the ‘Handshake ‘ and ‘UDA’ factions are yet to be debated on.
National Assembly Minority leader and Suba South MP John Mbadi will however miss the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday special sittings after he was suspended for disorderly act in the NA chambers.
