Every day sets a new pace, and in the world of possibilities, everything is possible, it is just a matter of time. Kenya has joined the growing list of African countries in making their own locally built ship MV UHURU II. The president of Kenya, Mr. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta presided over the floatation event held at the Kisumu Shipyard limited. This is a company under the ministry of defense incorporated in 2020 with the treasury as its share holder.
The ship MV UHURU II is a 100meter vessel, holding a capacity of up to 22wagons and an estimated capacity of 2million litres of crude oil. The vessel is set to be officially opened and start its operation later this year. Once installed the ship will join MV UHURUII in the growing list of locally made goods and products.
This invention has saved a lot of money as more money was used in importation.
