Kuria caught many by surprise on Tuesday, August 31, after disclosing that he would not vie for any seat in the 2022 General Election affirming that he would solely focus on building his Chama Cha Kazi party in the Mt Kenya region.
Late last month, Kuria took to his social media announcing that his supporters from his Kiambu backyard had requested him to be on the ballot in the August 9 polls. The lawmaker shared a poster of himself depicting that he was in the race on a Chama Cha Kazi party ticket.
The battle for the seat is expected to escalate even as the clock ticks towards the party primaries and general election and also as new entrants join the race.
